Garden Progress as of June 05, 2014

In revisiting Dennis and his garden, we found that he has planted the following:

Dennis planted his garlic the end of October or the first of November last fall. He said that is the proper time to plant it to get the best garlic. It has actually pushed it way up through the cold and or frozen soil to get to this point. He planted two different kinds. The first is garlic that he ordered from a supplier. The second is garlic that he purchased locally from a store in town.
In the picture, the garlic on the right is the ordered garlic. The garlic on the left is the local. The ordered garlic was probably between 4 and 6 inches high and looked much better than the local garlic which was considerably smaller.

Garden Progress as of July 31, 2014

Dennis has had problems with a virus in his tomato plants and has lost several of them. He also has grown a new plant called Asper Broc. He is growing a row of field clover in his garden. It grows wild all over but he wanted to see what would happen if it was grown in a garden like other plants. Dennis also has planted field corn. He has three varieties planted to compare how each of them does. He may eat some of the early corn but it will be more for seeds for bird food.
